Dr. M. Ramanuja Rao Garu is a senior consultant in Surgical Oncology (Breast) with over 42 years of experience. He holds an MBBS (1972–77) and MS in General Surgery (1980–83), qualifications that provided the foundation for a career devoted to oncology. Over the decades, through dedicated practice in cancer hospitals and surgical oncology teams, he has become a trusted specialist in breast oncology.

He began his career as a consultant at Gaganmahal Nursing Home, Hyderabad (1983–84), followed by international service at the State Head Quarter Hospital, Bushehr, Iran (1984–92). On returning to India, he worked extensively as a freelance surgeon and contributed to oncology teams across leading institutions including Apollo Amar Hospital, CDR Hospitals, Mythri Hospitals, Vivekananda Hospital, Sai Vani Hospital, and KIMS Hospital (1993–2010).

Since 2010, Dr. Rao Garu has been serving as a consultant at Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute, where he continues to provide specialized breast oncology care with compassion and precision.
