Job Title: Director of Research, Indo-American Cancer Research Foundation (IACRF)
Type of Position: Full Time
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Location: Hyderabad, India
Roles and Responsibilities:
The IACRF is looking for a dynamic leader with proven credentials in research and development to lead its efforts to fight against cancer. The Director of Research will be responsible for planning, executing and monitoring research projects in cancer biology, therapeutics and management; developing collaborative programs within the hospital and with other national and international organizations. The IACRF is expected to facilitate and enable the hospital to leverage cutting-edge approaches such as precision medicine, pharmacogenomics etc. The Director of Research is expected to provide scientific and administrative leadership along with liaising with funding agencies.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Develop research projects with the research team and clinicians.
  • Participate in, and lead research projects.
  • Participate and represent the research team in the ‘Governing Board’, ‘Steering Committee’, and ‘Research Council’ meetings.
  • Work with the ‘Management Team’ providing input on decision-making regarding operational and program direction.
  • Provide clear and actionable reports for the staff and other stakeholders as needed to implement the strategies and programs to further IACRF’s mission.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor an evaluation process for the quality of research projects and outcomes in collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Develop relationships with other cluster partners and stakeholders to further the mission of IACRF.
  • Write/ help write proposals as necessary to fund research projects and facilities.
  • Serve as part of the organization’s leadership team and contribute to the development and execution of strategic decisions.

Position: Director – Projects

The Role:-

As part of the leadership buildout, BIACHRI is seeking to appoint a Director – Projects for the institution. The individual will drive the project from concept to execution, commissioning and handing over to the user department at BIACHRI.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

Project Management

  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration with key stakeholders. Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents.
  • Build upon the existing design, monitor and get the drawings prepared for the construction as per the project requirement. Acquire necessary permission, permits, licenses, statutory compliances etc.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary. Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Participate in or oversee the pre-qualification and bid evaluation process for consultants, contractors, and other vendors and architects.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Track project milestones and deliverables. Oversee day-to-day contracts and commercial administration.

Manage project costs and timelines

  • Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This will include acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.
  • Coordinate with field team, supporting team contractors, sub-contractors to ascertain the daily work progress and quality as per technical specifications & time schedule.
  • Develop a strong supply chain of vendors and negotiate competitive terms.

People management

  • Provide leadership for site project management function by managing, coordinating, and developing staff.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Collaborate with various external and internal stakeholders including Business Units Heads, Contractors, Architects, Engineers and Government authorities. Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.

Quality and HSE

  • Execute and complete project on time with proper Quality, Safety and Environment Management. Ensure quality control of the projects throughout the life cycle.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
The position will be based in Hyderabad, Telangana and report to the CEO, BIACHRI.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be a highly accomplished project management professional, preferably with experience of setting up hospital infrastructure in the country. The individual will not only possess robust project execution skills but also a strategic mind-set to plan projects in line with organizational goals.
The ideal candidate will be someone who meets the following criteria:
  • BE / B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a reputed institute with 20+ years of experience with at least 5 years in similar project leadership roles and a proven track record of successfully leading large projects
  • Possess knowledge of latest project management process, software and technologies.
  • Experience in leading the interface with engineering, operating teams, project leads, vendors, and finance team.
  • Must be numerate, technical in approach and possess entrepreneurial instincts and a track record of demonstrating success and the ability to achieve bottom line results.
  • Possess knowledge of best construction practices encompassing the fields of Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, AV & IT and sufficient experience at construction sites to be able to evaluate performance and risks.
  • Prior experience in commercial, technical, risk management, regulatory, and litigation issues and a good knowledge of laws and contracting practices.
  • Track record of delivering projects with industry leading cost, schedule and operability outcomes.
  • Dynamic leader with outstanding business, communication and inter-personal skills, a person with the highest level of ethics and integrity.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in implementing and maintaining Hospital Information Management Systems (HIMS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS), Pharmacy Management Systems, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Financial Management Software, Attendance & Payroll systems, Procurement software, and other hospital-related applications. This individual will be responsible for evaluating, selecting, and collaborating with vendors for the implementation and maintenance of software solutions crucial for hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• System Evaluation and Implementation:
o Conduct comprehensive evaluations of new HIMS, EMR, LIS, RIS, Pharmacy, CRM, Finance, Attendance & Payroll, Procurement, and other essential hospital modules.
o Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to assess technology needs and identify suitable software solutions.
