Job Summary:
The General Manager (GM-Projects) – Hospital Project Construction will be
responsible for end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of the hospital
construction project. The GM will ensure adherence to quality standards, timelines,
regulatory norms, and budgetary limits. The role requires strong leadership, technical
knowledge, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams including architects,
consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead the construction of the hospital project from pre-construction to
commissioning. - Develop and monitor detailed project schedules, timelines, and milestones.
- Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP, and hospital planners
for design integration and approvals. - Ensure construction complies with hospital standards (e.g., JCI, NABH, IGBC,
NBC, Statutory norms).
Site Management & Supervision
- Supervise all construction sites & its activities, including civil, structural, MEP, and finishing works.
- Conduct regular site reviews and resolve execution challenges.
- Implement best practices for safety, quality control, and resource optimization.
- Ensure timely mobilization of resources and procurement of materials.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as the single point of contact between the Director – Projects and on-
ground execution teams. - Coordinate with statutory bodies for approvals – Fire, PESO, AERB, Pollution
Control Board, etc. - Liaise with PMC if any, legal, finance, procurement, and clinical planning
teams for seamless execution.
Budget & Cost Management
- Prepare and monitor budgets, cash flows, and cost estimates.
- Track BOQs, work orders, variations, and billing certifications.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate documentation of project progress, changes, minutes of
meetings, and reports. - Present regular progress reports, risk assessments, and mitigation plans to
the Director – Projects. - Ensure timely closure of project milestones and final handover
documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management (Master’s
preferred). - 18–25 years of experience in construction project management, with at least
5–7 years in healthcare or hospital projects. - Proven track record of handling multi-crore hospital/infrastructure projects
independently. - Familiarity with JCI/NABH/healthcare planning standards and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of project management tools (MS Project/Primavera/ERP).
