Dr. Rambabu Nuvvula is a senior consultant in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery with over 30 years of experience. He holds an M.S. and MCh in Plastic Surgery.
He has served in distinguished academic positions at Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad, including:
- Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery (2000–2008)
- Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery (2008–2011)
- Additional Professor of Plastic Surgery (2011–2013)
Dr. Nuvvula’s areas of specialization include onco‑reconstruction, lymphoedema management, cleft lip and palate surgery, congenital hand surgery, and advanced trauma reconstruction. He has particular expertise in microvascular oncological reconstruction for head and neck cancers and microvascular breast reconstruction (DIEP free flaps).
As a Smile Train partner surgeon, he is a recognized specialist in cleft lip and palate surgery, cleft rhinoplasty, velopharyngeal insufficiency (VPI), and cleft orthognathic surgery. He is also an expert in super‑microsurgery for lymphoedema management and has trained numerous MCh Plastic Surgery students at NIMS.
