Profile:

Dr. Sujit Chyau Patnaik Garu is a Senior Consultant with over 23 years of experience in cancer surgery, specializing in minimally invasive oncology procedures, laparoscopy, and robotics. Trained at the European Institute of Telesurgery, France, and with a fellowship in Thoracic Surgery from ASAN Medical Centre, Seoul, South Korea, he brings international expertise to GI, thoracic, and peritoneal surface malignancies.

He has performed advanced procedures including VATS and thoracolaproscopy for lung and esophageal cancers, and major resections in thoracic, upper GI, colorectal, and soft tissue oncology.

As a full‑time faculty member in the DNB Surgical Oncology program since 2011, Dr. Patnaik Garu has guided numerous residents in dissertations, research, and live operative workshops. He has contributed to 20+ publications in national and international journals and is actively involved in multicentric surgical trials.

Beyond clinical excellence, he is deeply committed to serving underprivileged patients under free health schemes in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, for which he was felicitated by the Honorable Chief Minister in 2010. His motto remains clear: to treat patients with utmost care and compassion, while training the next generation of surgeons for the future.
